As you know, each month we pick a classic fantasy novel that we have just rediscovered. This month it is Assassin’s Apprentice, written by Robin Hobb. For the majority of you this seminal work needs no introduction but for those of you who have not yet read a Robin Hobb novel, I cannot recommend this one highly enough. It follows Fitz, a royal bastard, and orphan, who must survive the deadly political games of the court, whilst keeping hidden his secret magic and learning the deadly art of the assassin…
The Times calls Robin Hobb’s novels ‘as addictive as morphine’ and we promise that once you try one you won’t be able to stop until you read all of them!

I LOVE this book! I have been waiting months for it to become available on Kindle. Imagine my excitement when I discovered (considering the hype for Game of Thrones it took some discovering) that it and the other Farseer books would be available on September 1st.
I threw the budget the winds and ordered all nine.
Imagine my HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT when on, opening the book, I discovered such a lack of care in it’s formatting that the font was huge and the text centre justified, making it very uncomfortable to read.
Amazon have withdrawn it for reformatting, however I feel most disappointed that this mistake was not caught before the Kindle version was published. It was not a minor mistake, but was obvious from the first page. It was clear that there had been NO attempt to check the book. I feel very let down and can only hope that the corrected version will be available soon.
